Moved by the Egyptian Uprising in 2011, Nada Bahgat decided to study Political Science to get exposed in depth to her community needs and aspirations. Throughout her university experience, she found purpose in working with youth and on topics of civic education and engagement through several platforms. She joined the Gerhart Center since 2018 to be responsible for the Egyptian Chapter of Lazord Fellowship in which she finds meaning through creating learning experiences for youth to explore, grow and blossom. Nada runs the fellowship program which targets youth fresh graduates from all over Egypt to offer then a one year placement in a reputable NGO, along with a capacity development program and a mentorship program. The fellowship aspires to create civic responsible leaders to reinforce the civil society. Nada has an outflowing passion for arts especially filmmaking and writing.
